New Year's Greeting From FRMS

As we says our goodbyes to 2010, it is time to welcome 2011 as it has much excitement and surprises in store for all of us, good or bad.

This year has been an amazing year in footie from the John Terry-Wayne Bridge saga, Spain winning the World Cup,to Inter clinching the Treble and El Clasico where Barcelona trashed Real Madrid 5-0.

Well. Enough of me. Happy New Year and I wish a prosperous and happy Footie 2011 to everyone!

Merry Christmas And Happy New Year Everybody!

I would like to wish everybody a wonderful and joyful Merry Christmas. Enjoy all the mince pies and Bûche de Noëls and get drunk with all wine life can offer because you all have been nice kids... YEAH RIGHT!

FRMS would like to wish everybody Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Please expect a long hiatus as I'll try cure my hangovers and snap back from my reverie of me having a drink alone with Senor Jose while looking into his eyes and feeling his perfectly tailored suit.

Mourinho Press Conference: Thinks Vietnamese League Is Better Than Sevilla Match, Brings A Paper Listing Referee's Mistakes

I love Mourinho press conferences.

A weekend of footy is not complete without looking into the bedroom eyes of that sexy silver fox and see his lips move when he speaks about football and gives a funny quote along the line.

Anyway *hits head to enter back to reality* , after Real Madrid's 1-0 against Sevilla. It was not an entertaining match unless you're into fracas, kicking, moaning, fighting, etc.

During the post-match press conference, the Real Madrid manager arrived into the arena holding a club-crested paper handed by an unknown person apparently listing 13 mistakes by the officials during that match.

"There were 13 serious mistakes by the referee," Mourinho told the post-match news conference.

"I don't feel under pressure when I am doing what I like doing, and I like to coach. I am tired of this. My team needs to be defended. If I say what I think, I will be on the front pages tomorrow and I will be suspended. There is a club and a structure and I want them to defend my team from there."

Mourinho did not read from the mysterious paper by citing that he is tired of being the only one at Madrid who was defending its interests and he also demanded a private meeting with Florentino Perez to discuss the need of a new striker due to absence of Gonzalo Higuain to injury whom is currently replaced by the not-meeting-expectation-of-Mourinho Karim Benzema.

He also made a very humourous remark as the match was “too ugly to be a game of football” and the effervescent Mourinho would rather watch a game in the Vietnamese league. Candid.

The Angry and Hurt Mourinho

José Mourinho is still a great manager, even after Real Madrid's 5-0 defeat to Barcelona. Everyone knows José wants the best from his players. So when Karim Benzema missed a great chance against Real Zaragoza , Mourinho reacted the way Mourinho would act.

But then, karma is everywhere. After the second half commenced, after Angel Di Maria put Madrid 3-1 in front, Mourinho accidentally hit his head on the dugout. The bump required attention from the physio but need not worry, The Special One is still alive.

Red Cards Conspiracy In Amsterdam

Controversy surrounds Real Madrid after both Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos received second yellow cards for time wasting. It seems that José Mourinho had orchestrated a devious plan to get both Xabi and Sergio so they would have a clean slate when Real Madrid (already qualified) play in the round of 16.

This video shows Mourinho instructing Xabi and a Real Madrid coach telling Casillas to whisper to Ramos about "something" . Iker can't even look at Sergio!

Mourinho: Sent To Stands

Real Madrid manager and self proclaimed "The Special One" did not feel so special after he was sent off to the stands during Real Madrid's Copa Del Rey match against Murcia. The men in white did win the match 5-1 but it was a very dirty match played by Mourinho's men.

Six different players were shown yellow cards and both Alvaro Arbeloa and Jose Mourinho were sent off, while just one Murcia player was booked the whole match.

After the match, Mourinho spoke to the press about the ref.

"I cannot say he was a bad referee. I would make a terrible referee. All that matters is that we won. It was a good match. Murcianos can be pleased with their team’s performance. They put Real Madrid in a bind. Madridistas can also be happy because they got over the Alcorcon and Real Union debacles. Now we must wait and see who we draw in the next round."

He later added on the ref by his booking-per-game stats.

"Just look at this referee’s statistics. It is in his nature. I’m not saying he is good or bad. I am not one to judge him, but I do usually analyze referee statistics. This one has officiated about 50 matches in Primera and has shown more than 250 yellow cards; an average of more than six per match. He booked ten players in his last match. I knew once I was sent off that I couldn’t stay where I was, so I looked for the best vantage point and didn’t have a problem. I spoke to the players during halftime and then gave a few orders in the second half."

Invader In Real-Milan Match

After barely a minute played at the Santiago Bernabeu in a clash of the titans where Real Madrid hosted AC Milan, an invader invaded (well duh) the hallowed pitch and start running around the pitch the same way José Mourinho ran when his former team Inter Milan won against Barcelona at the Nou Camp. Mourinho in disguise?

Guardiola Shows Support- Even At The Touchline

Pep Guardiola was seen wearing a pink ribbon to show his support for the fight against breast cancer. Isn't it so sweet? You should start smiling, Pep.

The Barca manager has certainly a lot to smile about after his side defeated Valencia -who were top of the table before the match- to be placed second below rivals Real Madrid. Congrats, Pep.

Enzo Zidane - Tipped to NOT Follow Dad's France's Footsteps?

I previously published a post saying they MIGHT be a possibility that Enzo Zidane might opt to play for Spain, instead of France, the team where his dad, Zidane played during his glory days. Now, Jorge Valdano, sporting director of Real Madrid says that "there will be a duel" between Spain and France over Enzo.

France have expressed interest to have him in their squad but Spain U-16 coach Gines Melendez has announced his intentions to call up Zidane Jr. to play for La Furia Roja.

The money is on Spain to win the battle for Enzo after France's embarrassing exit from the 2010 World Cup in contrast to Spain's who won the trophy. But he is just 15 years old, after all? He has a lot of thinking to do.

Ronaldo wants to be CR7 again

Since Raul is no longer at the Bernabeu, CR9 wants to be CR7 again (maybe that is his luck no.) and he said Raul would be "proud" to see him in the number 7. The Real Madrid fans are fine with it (except the ones who one the CR9 shirt)....

José Mourinho Officially Unveiled as New Real Madrid Coach

Yes, The Special One will be making the headlines next season in Spain after leaving Inter despite winning a treble with the San Siro side.
“I was born to be a football coach,” he said. “I am José Mourinho and I don’t change. I arrive with all my qualities and my defects. My attraction to Real Madrid is due to its history, its frustrations in recent years and expectations to win. It’s a unique club. The beauty is not so much to train or play at Real, but to win at Real Madrid.”“I was born to be a football coach,” he said. “I am José Mourinho and I don’t change. I arrive with all my qualities and my defects. My attraction to Real Madrid is due to its history, its frustrations in recent years and expectations to win. It’s a unique club. The beauty is not so much to train or play at Real, but to win at Real Madrid.”
José also wants to be the first one ever to complete a grand slam of domestic titles in England,Italy and Spain having already won the Premier League with Chelsea and Serie A with Inter. (Carlo) Ancelotti, (Fabio) Capello, (Ruud) Van Nistelrooy, (David) Beckham and others have won two of the big leagues but no one has won three. I would like to be the first to do the Grand Slam of Spain, Italy and England.’

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN TWO KING-SIZED EGOS COLLIDE?

Just how will Jose Mourinho get on with Cristiano Ronaldo?

They have not always seen eye-to-eye, with the pair taking part in a public bout of name calling in 2007.

s the dressing room big enough for the both of them — and their egos?

Mourinho and Ronaldo share the same agent, Jorge Mendes, and so you would think there will be some harmony...

It will be fascinating to watch it all unfold in the cauldron of Madrid.

“The most important thing is the club, not the players, not the coach. We are little compared with the club,” he said in response to a question about how he would handle another Portuguese without self-esteem issues, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Forbes' Most Expensive Football Teams

No. 10: Schalke 04

Domestic league: German Bundesliga

Owner/majority shareholder: Veltins brewery

Current value: $510 million

A new German TV deal is boosting revenue. So is selling out Veltins Arena (the brewer is parent and naming-rights sponsor). The team is locked up with Gazprom on a shirt sponsorship deal that will reportedly pay as much as $180 million over five years. Quarterfinalists in Champions League in '08, Schalke 04 was out early in '09.

No. 9: Juventus

Domestic league: Italian Serie A

Owner/majority shareholder: Agnelli family

Current value: $600 million

Juventus was promoted back to Serie A last year following scandal and demotion. Eligible for Champions league this year, the team is building a new, mid-sized stadium; the naming rights are already sold.

No. 8: Chelsea

Domestic league: English Premiership

Owner/majority shareholder: Roman Abramovich

Current value: $800 million

Although the team was a runner-up both in Premiership and Champions leagues, home attendance at London's Stamford Bridge was down. More than $700 million in debt, team head Peter Kenyon's plan to turn profit will have to wait.

No. 7: Barcelona

Domestic league: Spanish Primera Liga

Owner/majority shareholder: club members

Current value: $960 million

The Champions league semifinalist is investing in Major League Soccer team in Miami to grow U.S. presence and investing $400 million to redevelop its old stadium.

No. 6: AC Milan

Domestic league: Italian Serie A

Owner/majority shareholder: Silvio Berlusconi

Current value: $990 million

The team shared a stadium with Inter Milan, and it will miss the '09 Champions league after a subpar 2008, despite borrowing David Beckham from Los Angeles Galaxy. Revenues are up on first year of new TV deal with Berlusconi's Mediaset

No. 5: Liverpool

Domestic league: English Premiership

Owner/majority shareholder: George Gillett/Thomas Hicks

Current value: $1.01 billion

The credit crunch forced owners to halt plans for new stadium last year. Hicks and Gillett have roughly three months to repay or refinance $600 million in debt with RBS/Wachovia. Owners could be forced to sell just one year after making the semifinals of the Champions league.

No. 4: Bayern Munich

Domestic league: German Bundesliga

Owner/majority shareholder: club members

Current value: $1.11 billion

The team missed the Champions league but made it to semifinals of Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Cup. Bayern Munich has a debt-free balance sheet, and last year it bought a 50% stake in its stadium that it did not own, which will increase their revenue this season.

No. 3: Arsenal

Domestic league: English Premiership

Owner/majority shareholder: Alisher Usmanov

Current value: $1.2 billion

London club sold out new Emirates Stadium in its second year, despite increased ticket prices, and finished third in English Premier League (EPL). Naming rights pay an average of $18 million a year through 2021, which should help pay stadium debt. There are 50,000 fans on the waiting list for season tickets.

No. 2: Real Madrid

Domestic league: Spanish Primera Liga

Owner/majority shareholder: club members

Current value: $1.353 billion

Despite the loss of their jersey sponsor BenQ Mobile, these Spanish champs are in the second year of a $1.4 billion, seven-year TV deal. And recent stadium improvements mean more luxury suites and hospitality revenue this season

No. 1: Manchester United

Domestic league: English Premiership

Owner/majority shareholder: Glazer family

Current value: $1.87 billion

These European champs benefit from the first year of new Premiership TV deal. Owners could sell naming rights for the team's Old Trafford stadium to reduce their $1 billion debt.

Real Madrid defeated by Lyon

Real Madrid who were hoping to be playing in the Champions League final which is to be at their own Bernabeu Stadium were kicked out of the competition when Olympique de Lyonnais aka Lyon drew 1-1 with a 2-1 advantage when the Spaniards flew out to France. When Cristiano Ronaldo scored at the 6th minute, everyone thought Lyon would qualify on away goals if Real did not score by full time. But Lyon's own Miralem Pjanić scored at the 75 minute to make sure Lyon won on both legs.

Contrasting emotions: Miralem Pjanić celebrates after scoring with Iker Casillas praying to God to save Real's ass.

Gonzalo Huigaín couldn't hold back his dissapoinment.
