Paul Scholes Has Retired

The Ginger Prince has retired. His retirement was a typical Paul Scholes announcement. Not when the season was on or before the final against Barcelona but when everyone had left for holidays and international duty.

It was sad that Paul Scholes' last game had to end in a defeat but his contributions will never be forgotten.

A proof of how Paul Scholes is admired by Barcelona players. Five FC Barcelona players wanted to swap shirts with Paul Scholes last night. Andrés Iniesta beat them all to it.
Scholes may have hung up his boots but will join United's coaching staff next season. A real bonus as he can help develop our young midfielders.

Sir Alex said " Paul has always been fully committed to this club and I am delighted he will be joining the coaching staff from next season. Paul has always been inspirational to players of all ages and we know that will continue in his new role."

A testimonial will be played in August.

P.S: Sorry for my lack of posting. It has been a while. I won't be that active on Blogging until October. So sorry but after that, I will post every day!!

Manchester United's New Commercial For Turkish Airlines

With all the hype on Rooney by the media in a will-he-or-won't-he stay saga, how about some enlightenment from the United players in their new commercial with their new sponsor, Turkish Airlines. Those were the days.

Features the skills of Bébé, Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick, Darron Gibson, Jonny Evans, the Da Silva twins, Anderson, Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov and an unhappy Paul Scholes who just wants to read the paper. Poor Paul. Also starting is United legend Sir Bobby Charlton who is "saved" by Van der Sar.

FACEBOOK FANS' ALL-TIME BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE XI

Recently, Facebook fans of Barclays Football (including myself) voted on the best player ever in the Premier League for each position.
The Great Dane, Peter Schmeichel helped Manchester United reach their first Treble ever in 1999.
Former teammate of Schmeichel, captain of Manchester United Gary Neville gets his spot as best right-back.
John Terry is definitely not crying because he was voted top centreback. An iconic picture as JT bawls out after slipping away a penalty kick that could have won him the Champions League title.
JT joins Tony Adams, formerly of Arsenal in an all time Premier League centreback partnership.
Frenchman Patrice Evra beat out Ashley Cole for a spot as best left back.
Nowadays, left winger Ryan Giggs has less chest hair. Giggsy couldn't help it when he scored a brilliant solo effort against Arsenal in an 1999 FA Cup replay. With a majestic left foot, Sir Ryan could make a movie with the title " The Curious Case of Ryan Giggs" as he grows younger every season. Giggs is the only person to ever score in EVERY Premier League season so far.
"He Score's GOALS, SCHOLES"
Giggsy's friend since their days in the youth system at United , central midfielder Paul Scholes who is also like a bottle of wine as Ryan Giggs.
Another great central midfielder, , Steven Gerrard. A scouser with a passion for his club, Stevie G is a true Liverpudlian captain.
There is only one David Beckham. Becks scores from free kicks and corner kicks. He achieved a lot with Manchester United, the club he supported as a kid like in 1999 when he won the Treble with United.
Frenchman Thierry Henry may now be known as a handballer but one cannot deny his talent. He scored, scored, scored and scored. Won awards but sadly went to Barcelona.
Le Roi, Monsieur Eric Cantona was also voted greatest striker. An enigma with wonderful quotes and shocking moments in his career (yes, THAT one at Crystal Palace), Cantona is still greatly admired by United fans and neutrals alike.
AND THE MANAGER:

Sir Alex Ferguson has won everything. Countless league titles, FA Cups, League Cups, European Cups, Club World Cup.. (i think you get it). 1999 was the highlight of Fergie's career as he lead Man United to their first Treble ever.

Barclays Player And Manager Of The Month

Carlo Ancelotti was voted Manager of the Month and deservingly so. Chelsea are the only club so far to win all their games. But to be fair, Chelsea had an easy run-in.
Paul Scholes won the monthly accolade for players. Paul Scholes is in his twilight of his career but plays like he is in his 20's and tackles like he is 8 years old. :D

Zizou really, really, REALLY Loves Paul Scholes

Zidane on Scholes:

“Paul Scholes is still in a class of his own. He’s almost untouchable in what he does.

“I never tire of watching him play. You rarely come across the complete footballer, but Scholes is as close to it as you can get.

“One of my regrets is that the opportunity to play alongside him never presented itself during my career.”

Who wouldn't want to see Zidane and Scholes in the same central midfield???

I sense our Zizou has a man crush on Scholes...He faces some tough competition since Gary Neville give THAT smacker after our beloved ginger player scored a last gasp goal against Manchester City.

Manchester United Train Ahead Of Bayern Munich

Nemanja Vidic heads the ball which he was really good at against Bolton
Youngsters Macheda (2nd from left) and De Laet (4th from left) were also part of the 23 man squad that flew out to Germany.
Giggsy, Scholesy and Neville were all there during United's Champions League Final triumph over Bayern Munich.
"4 goals, I promise". Maybe Wayne is promising the gaffer he would repeat his demolition of Hull City during their recent form.
Is he laughing at the ball?
Nice hairstyle, Berba.
