Paul Scholes Has Retired

The Ginger Prince has retired. His retirement was a typical Paul Scholes announcement. Not when the season was on or before the final against Barcelona but when everyone had left for holidays and international duty.

It was sad that Paul Scholes' last game had to end in a defeat but his contributions will never be forgotten.

A proof of how Paul Scholes is admired by Barcelona players. Five FC Barcelona players wanted to swap shirts with Paul Scholes last night. Andrés Iniesta beat them all to it.
Scholes may have hung up his boots but will join United's coaching staff next season. A real bonus as he can help develop our young midfielders.

Sir Alex said " Paul has always been fully committed to this club and I am delighted he will be joining the coaching staff from next season. Paul has always been inspirational to players of all ages and we know that will continue in his new role."

A testimonial will be played in August.

P.S: Sorry for my lack of posting. It has been a while. I won't be that active on Blogging until October. So sorry but after that, I will post every day!!

Messi Craze Induced Week

This week has been filled with too much Lionel Messi. But I am certainly not complaning.
Messi's award speech.... Skip for those who despise humility and oh, Barcelona.

Our boy, Lionel Messi won the FIFA Ballon D'Or for the 2nd time (in a row!!) with teammates Iniesta and Xavi coming behind. And the MOST IMPORTANT information, he is wearing a tux by Dolce & Gabbana.

Later in the plane, the three nominees as well as unbleeding Pique toasted good luck with some bubblay...

Messi was at the Camp Nou with his trophy a couple of days later to parade his trophy with Andres and Xavi. Off Topic: His smile brighten's up my day...

Oh yeah, as usual Messi scored a superb goal against Betis in the Copa Del Rey. Typical stuff from Messi and Iniesta who assisted the Messiah.

True Spirit Of Football: Espanyol Supporters Thank Iniesta For Jarque Tribute

In the latest Catalan derby, Barcelona trashed their city rivals Espanyol away from home by the scoreline of 5-1. Pretty much every Barcelona player was booed by Espanyol but not Andres Iniesta, a rarity in modern day football.
No one can forget Iniesta's remarkable tribute to Espanyol captain and close friend Dani Jarque after his suffered a fatal heart attack in the team's hotel during pre-season.
A fan tributes to Iniesta using the same words written on THAT shirt that shall forever live in the hearts of the people and in Spanish football's history.

This gesture by Espanyol fans is superb. This is the true spirit of football from Iniesta's tribute to Jarque to the Espanyol supporters' standing ovation to Andres. We should all learn from Iniesta and the Espanyol fans. Amazing.

Dani Jarque: You Will Forever Be In Our Hearts And We Still Miss You.

Andres Iniesta Stars In A Weird Commercial With A Bear

Andrés Iniesta recently starred in advert alongside a bear (??) aired in Spain to promote some kind of footie channel and I have to say, this advert is ridiculous and cute at the same time.

This is the translation I got from A Football Report since I can't speak Spanish.

“We met each other a year ago, by accident, and since then, we’ve been inseparable. We share a house, friends, and hobbies. We share happy moments (world cup shot). We accept each other through the good and the not so good. But, there’s another way to take care of your best friend…This is our first Christmas together, and I’m going to surprise [the bear]If you have someone very special…this Christmas, the best gift is Gol Television."

Diego Milito, who won the Treble with Inter last season is not shortlisted for the first ever FIFA Ballon D'Or award. Spain are the Champions!

Spain have won the World Cup after Andres Iniesta scored 3 minutes before the end of extra time. Congrats, La Furia Roja.

Are you watching, Arsène Wenger??
Wesley Sneijder on the verge of crying...
On a brighter note, look at Torres's exuberant smile!
and the biceps of Sergio Ramos

The very emotional Iker Casillas also kissed his girlfried/reporter during an interview

Andres Iniesta Ain't A Master of The (ANNOYING??) Vuvuzela

As the vuvuzela debate rages on, struggling to be heard over the constant buzz of the vuvuzelas themselves, one player has attempted to publicly make peace with the mass-produced plastic horns that have already drawn complaints and blame from so many of his peers.

In an interview for Spanish TV, midfielder Andres Iniesta was presented with a vuvu and asked to give it a go. Though appearing a bit hesitant, Iniesta accepted the challenge and tried to show the thing who's boss with a chuckle-impaired blow. The result? Nothing. Everyone laughed and Iniesta surrendered the horn back to the interviewer, who demonstrated just how painfully easy it is to make it work before handing it back to Iniesta for another go. And, with a mighty puff ... nothing.

Iniesta played it off with more laughter and made like he was going to throw the insubordinate vuvuzela away, but he didn't. The vuvuzela wins again.
