Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and his wife Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Al-Missned receive the World Cup trophy.
Don't be sad, William. At least you have Kate. Remember, you have a wedding to plan.

RIP: Paul The Octopus (January 2008- 26 October 2010)

Paul the Octopus has passed away. Who saw that coming? The ambassador for England's 2018 bid became a world wide sensation after predicting Germany's games and eventually the final between Spain and The Netherlands correctly. It was expected that he would die before Euro 2012 as common octopus's only live 2 years maximum.

I am actually sad for an octopus. May he rest in peace.

Paul the Octopus Has Become the Ambassador of England 2018 World Cup Bid

Believe it or not, Paul the Psychic Octopus has been persuaded to join England's bid team for the 2018 World Cup.

It doesn't really matter, does it since England definitely will get the green light. The troubles South Africa 2010, which lost money, and Brazil 2014, which again could lose cash,

FIFA would want a reliable, old-school host nation with a good ready made infrastructure, where full stadia are guaranteed for every game.
