Euro 2012 Qualifiers : England, France, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Spain and Holland

"We are actually playing really good", Capello thought to himself as England demolished Bulgaria 4-0 with Jermain Defoe's hat trick and a strike by Adam Johnson.
While Capello went back home with a grin, don't expect the same with Laurent Blanc as France lost 1-0 to Belarus.

Substitute Corry Evans scored his first goal in his debut for Northern Ireland against Slovenia. Its time to get out of Jonny's (very attractive) shadow. Corry Evans is cute too. With a really nice accent.
Darren Fletcher skippered Scotland for 0-0 draw against Lithuania.
World Champions Spain won easily against Liechtenstein with David Villa and Fernando Torres both scoring braces. Cesc Fabregas also played his part for his country. But this time no one was forcing him to where Barcelona's kit.
And World Cup finalists' won 5-0 against San Marino with a Klass-Jan Huntelaar hat trick, a penalty converted by Dirk Kuyt and Ruud Van Nistelrooy scoring in extra time.

Laurent Blanc Wants French Players To Sing National Anthem

In Laurent Blanc's latest effort to change the public's perception on the French team after everything that happened in South Africa, he has urged his players to sing the national anthem.

Says Blanc (via the AP):

“I have personally encouraged the players to sing the Marseillaise because I was practically certain some of them didn’t know the words,” Blanc said on Thursday. “I think they will know the words to sing it now, but everyone’s free to do what they want. They know my way of thinking, though: if you know the national anthem of your country it’s preferable to sing it.

“I don’t have many opportunities to sing it. I admit I don’t sing it under the shower,” Blanc added. “But when you are representing your country—and God knows when you play for the national team you are—it’s a pleasure to sing it.”

No excuses now boys. Everyone has been given the lyrics so no turning back now.

Classic example of the French team during the national anthem. Also includes waving to the camera.

In his first press conference as manager of France, former Laurent Blanc has banned all 23 players that were involved in France's horrendous World Cup campaign in South Africa.
All 23 players (well 22, since Thierry Henry has retired) will be banned from an international friendly against Norway. The squad for the Norwegian match will be revealed on August 8.
